Mariánské Lázně
Mariánské Lázně is a town in the Cheb district of Karlovy Vary region. The predominant part of Mariánské Lázně are green areas and parks, thanks to which the town belongs to the most beautiful park-towns in Europe. Mariánské Lázně received its name in 1808, it was named after one of the healing springs located in the area. In 1812 the municipality of Mariánské Lázně was established. In 1865 the municipality was elevated to the level of a city by decree of the emperor Franz Joseph I. Approximately 12 500 people reside in the municipality of Mariánské Lázně on the area of 52 km2 . Mariánské Lázně is a small town, but due to this it is also safe. There are more than 100 mineral springs in the area around the town with approximately 40 springs located in the town itself. People come to Mariánské Lázně to heal disorders of kidneys, urinary tract, locomotor system, respiratory tract, metabolic system, gynecological diseases, oncological diseases, and the diseases of digestive tract.
Since 24.7.2021 the spa town of Mariánské Lázně has been recorded in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List.
